A story made from the experience of spending over two years in Ireland.
Japanese screen writer has made it a film!
“Ireland is home to fairies”
These are the words that the director, Ohara, found in Japan in 2014. He felt it was his fate to move to Ireland. He believes that the manner in which he will elucidate the concept of invisibility and allow people to feel what they cannot see is essential for his creativity. He thought there is no place other than Ireland where he could make his dream come true, which is filming his own movie.
After his first struggles with the differences between language, culture and weather, he started to appreciate these differences and decided to work on a screenplay in January 2016 and founded his project team, ‘Tact Film Project’. After a lot of difficulty, thanks to his passionate staff and casts' contribution, this movie is soon to be completed.
Ohara hopes that this movie will be an opportunity for people to see Ireland and even their own lives in a different light, as well as the invisible things which we often take for granted.
"The Important thing is if it is inspiring."
A man living in Ireland, Darragh Kelly, dreams to be an author, however he has yet to be successful in any of the writing competitions he has entered.
When Aisling, his girlfriend, told him that his stories didn’t inspire her, it made him think about his future as a writer.
Darragh lives with his mother, Susan, who makes handmade goods for living; his little sister Mary; and his father, who is a sailor and is usually away from home. The Kellys are a host family for a language school and host a foreign student, Nami, who is from Japan. Nami is cheerful and curious and loves photography. After just two months with the Kellys, she seemed to become another member of the family. She has a fiancé in Japan and is spending what remains of her free time before married life on studying abroad; a dream which she has had for years.
One day, Susan found out about a sugarcraft competition and decided to enter. She suggested that Darragh and Nami travel around Ireland to help inspire a design for the competition which requires a story and photos to go along with her sugarcraft. Susan makes her sugarcraft based on what Darragh writes and the photos Nami takes.
At the beginning of their journey, Nami saw sheep and suggested Darragh write a story where a sheep is a protagonist.
Darragh didn’t agree with the concept, but nevertheless started writing the story.
What happens on their journey?
Will he be able to finish his story?
